Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN (JONI) GEORGINA BANNISTER June 16, 1942 - January 16, 2013 Joan Georgina Bannister, age 70 years of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on January 16, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joan was born in East Chester, Nova Scotia and grew up in Londonderry, Nova Scotia. She moved to Manitoba in 1964, where she resided for the rest of her life. She will be fondly remembered by her daughters, Gloria (Cal), Laurel (Darius), Janet (Greg) and Sheryl (Kirk), her grandchildren, Gregory, Hannah, Randi, Justin, Clayton, Daryl, Conrad and Carly, and numerous family and friends. The family would like to thank the nursing team of the Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface General Hospital, as well the Palliative Home nurses for the compassionate care they gave our mother. The celebration of Joni's life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave., Winnipeg.
