MARY ELIZABETH CUMMING (nee MOAR) Mary Elizabeth Cumming passed away peacefully on January 20, 2013 at Health Sciences Centre with family by her side. Mary is survived by her loving husband Gary; her siblings Charlie (Donna), Dorothy, Duke (Margaret), and sisters-in-law Lorena, Darlene, and Lucille. Also mourning her loss are members of the Cumming family, sister-in-law Cheryl (Dave); brothers-in-law Brad (Darla), Craig (Monique), and Mark; special sister-in-law Charlotte as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents; brothers Alfie, Alex, and Hank; sisters Margie, Nancy, and Emily; mother-in-law Helen, and nephew Brent. Mary was born in Kinosota, MB on January 1, 1947. She moved to Winnipeg in 1966 where she resided until her passing. Mary was a loving and devoted wife and friend to husband Gary. She will be missed by her pets Ellie and Shasha. Even though Mary had no children of her own, she was a mother to many of her nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed. Until her illness, Mary was a long time employee of 30 years for AAA alarms. In her early years Mary was an avid dart player and enjoyed playing alongside her brothers and sisters in competitions. Later in life, even during her illness, Mary enjoyed outings to casinos and playing bingo with family and friends. Mary was especially fond of family get-togethers for BBQs, birthdays, and card games. The family would like to thank Mary's niece Alexis; longtime friend Dorothy Penton; brother-in-law Mark; and sister-in-law Cheryl for their love and support. A big thank you to Mary's first playmate in Kinosota and eventually her sister-in-law, Lorena, for the support she provided at the hospital for Mary. We would also like to thank the staff, doctors, and nurses at CancerCare, Palliative Care and Health Sciences Centre during Mary's illness and for doing their best to keep Mary comfortable. In lieu of flowers, the family has been asked that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba in Mary's name.
