BASIL (BILL) ZALESKY On Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Health Sciences Centre, Bill passed away quietly in his sleep. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Anne, of 59 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his cousins Pat (Richard) and Walter (Janet) and Joe. He always considered Anne's family as his own and will be lovingly remembered by Helen (Frank), Wally (Vicky), Mary (Ken) and Jeanette. He is also survived by numerous relatives in Canada, U.S.A. and Western Ukraine who will remember his kindness and generosity. Bill was predeceased by his parents, brother and two sisters. Bill was born on December 15, 1922, in Western Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1952 where he met and married Anne in 1953. He was employed with the Winnipeg School Division #1 until his retirement in 1988. His faith and family were very important to him and he worked very hard all his life. Divine Liturgy celebrating his life will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 1 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. Services will terminate at the Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Holy Family Home, St. Mary's Unit, for their compassionate care and the staff at Health Sciences Centre Emergency and in the 6GH Unit. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 1 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating.
