DOREEN AUGUSTINE MAMROCHA (nee SAWATSKI) 1931 - 2013 Doreen passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2013 surrounded by her family at Beausejour Hospital. She was born in Chipman, AB. Doreen is predeceased by her parents Stanley and Anne Sawatski, her brother Peter and sister Helen, as well as brother in-law Peter and sister in-law Irene. She will be forever remembered by her loving husband of 61 years, Casmir, her sons Eugene (Donna) and Randy (Florence), grandchildren Kristina (Sam), Casmera and Michael. Doreen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. Casmir and Doreen were pen-pals for 11 years before they met. They fell in love and married in Chipman, AB in 1951 and another wedding reception followed at the family homestead in Allegra, MB. Subsequently Doreen farmed alongside Casmir in Allegra for over 60 years. She was known for her love of gardening and she was an excellent seamstress. After many years on the farm the couple moved into Beausejour where her love of gardening continued. She loved her frequent visits back to the farm. She loved playing Hola with her grandchildren. She was very involved in her grandchildren's lives. Some of the activities included playing Hola, going to musical recitals, and swimming lessons. She also enjoyed her many trips with her family and friends. She was known to everyone as Baba . Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour with interment to follow in Allegra Cemetery. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7 also at the Chapel.
