As kids, Glen, Ronnie, Dale, myself (Robert Bartlett ) and brother Rex, spent endless summer hours together at Gull Lake. I think I can speak for all of us in saying that these were VERY happy times. "messing around in small boats", swimming, building forts and being kids. Looking back, it felt like we were all brothers. Glen will be missed. - Posted by: rob bartlett (childhood friend) on: Feb 20, 2013

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Glen's passing. Glen was so wonderful to my mother when she required a walker and other handicap devices. My brother Wayne and I lived on Claremont Avenue for many years and I think Wayne spent more time at the Kowbels than home. While the band was practicing I was banging at the door between sets trying to get my brother home for supper. When Wayne and Linda were kids it was common to see them on the street playing hockey. Kathy often called me to babysit Penny Rae when she was an infant. Glen and I went to Nelson McIntyre but our family lost touch with the Kowbels when we moved from Norwood. Decades later during my mother's illness we hooked up by accident when I called about handicap bars for the shower. On behalf of Wayne and myself please accept our sincerest condolences. - Posted by: June Repo (neighbor from Claremont Avenue) on: Feb 16, 2013

My Dad Gary always spoke of his relationship with Glen with so much passion. I can tell how much Glen meant to Gary. My papy always use to say that friends are more precious than gold. Will miss you Glen. Jesse - Posted by: Jesse Card (Son of Gary Card (life long friend)) on: Feb 14, 2013

My deepest condolences to the Kowbel and Muir families. Glen and I were close friends and played in the band "Why" together for a number of years. We also shared many fun times at Gull Lake and I always felt welcome in the Kowbel's home and cottage. I dearly remember Glen coming over to our Apartment, with a Chef Boyardee pizza kit to make us Pizza, late in the evening, when my wife Susan and I were first married. I will remember Glen as a fun loving, kind and talented guy. - Posted by: Gary Card (Old Friend) on: Feb 14, 2013

I am so sorry to learn of his passing. Too soon. He was always very kind to me and made me laugh. I remember when he was in the band "Why". The other guys didn't want me around as I was little and Glen stood up for me and let me be part of the show. I got to throw up the florescent confetti into the fan under the black lights. Thank you Glen. God Bless you forever and all my love to the family. - Posted by: Dale Olnick (friend) on: Feb 13, 2013
