DOROTHY ISABEL BUSKELL (nee FROST) March 8, 1918 - February 26, 2013 Peacefully, on February 26, 2013, Dorothy Buskell passed away at Concordia Hospital at 94 years of age. Mom was born in Teulon, MB, and is survived by her three sons John of Winnipeg, Ronald (Rosemarie) of Calgary and Arden (Alison) of Saskatoon; grandchildren Kathryn (Kevin), Jeffrey (Sarah), Andrew, Lindsay (Jonathan), Kyle; great-grandchildren, Claire and James; brother Albert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband Elywn, her parents Albert and Lillian Frost, and her sister Elsie Frank. Dad and Mom were married in 1946, and built their home in 1948, where our Mom lived until 2011. Mom and Dad built their cottage at Locke Bay, ON, in the early 1960s where the family spent many summer days enjoying Mom's tremendous cooking and fresh blueberry pie. Mom was an avid reader and bridge player who was ahead of her time as a nature lover. She moved to Kildonan House in the fall of 2011, where she maintained her positive outlook, her sense of humour and her independence. Thank you to the staff at Kildonan House for the wonderful care and support you provided our mom and a special thanks to Concordia Hospital for making her final days as comfortable as possible. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave, Winnipeg, MB with internment to follow at Windsor Cemetery Teulon MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church. MACKENZIE FUNERAL CHAPEL STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

  • Our deepest sympathies for your loss, dear Buskells - your Mom was such a wonderful lady, Arden! She always had a sincere smile on her face and then there was that little twinkle in her eye that made one feel that she was sharing something special with you. • Enjoyed bringing my dad over to visit her these last years, both in her home and in her residence at Kildonan House. We loved her cheerfulness and excitement of life. She will be very much missed. We send our condolences from myself and my father Walter Buskell, to all of Emily's family. - Posted by: Bruce Buskell (nephew) on: Mar 02, 2013

  • Dear Buskell Families please accept our heartfelt condolences from the L'Hirondelle Family. Arden, what an amazing lady she was. Our memories of her will forever be cherished and smiles will always come to our faces when we speak of her and your Pop! They were straight up, without a doubt, the cutest little couple we knew. We in true kindness referred to them as the "Salt & Pepper Shakers"...inseperable! Both your Mom and Pop welcomed each of our family like we were their own. We look at Moms picture and peacefully a smile comes to our faces. Rest In Peace dear Mrs. Buskell, forever together now with Pop! - Posted by: L'Hirondelle Family (extended family) on: Mar 02, 2013
