  • My sincere condolences to Mr. Rodriguez and Erna and Ricardo. I remember back in the late 70's staying over on the weekends and the great food Mrs. Rodriguez would make for us. she always made me feel like family she was a kind, loving and intelligent lady. we were all blessed to have known her. I send my love to you all and cherish the memories. - Posted by: Traci Ealing-Lobb (Family Friend) on: Jun 05, 2013

  • This is such sad news. Ana was physically a tiny, petite woman, but she had the heart and the courage of a lion. She was so generous with her time, energy, devotion to her beloved Ricardo, her family, and her community. She gave selflessly to make her world a better place. Our dinners and evenings spent with Ana and Ricardo were among the best times we had in Thompson. You are sorely missed, beautiful friend. Rest in peace. - Posted by: NJ Baker and Chad Thompson (Friends and neighbours) on: Mar 23, 2013

  • We have lost a great person and a force for education and the well being of newcomers to Canada. We have good memories working hard together and having great time playing some card games or watching "Sabados Gigantes" in Thompson in the 80's when it was a dream to have a Spanish channel. Descansa querida Amiga y companera,te lo mereces. - Posted by: Maria Marchant & Clovis Gonzalez (Friends and volunteers with iwam) on: Mar 22, 2013

  • Sincere condolences to Ricardo and to their children and grandchildren. Ana was a charming, gracious, and principled woman who devoted her life to her family and to educational endeavours. She made a difference, and she will be missed. - Posted by: Sandra Barber (Colleague) on: Mar 22, 2013

  • My most sincere condolences to Ricardo and family. To me Ana will always represent the Chilean duena and mistress of the cueca. Her gracious hosting skills left national and international guests appreciative of Latin American social graces. I will always remember the clicking of needles and her cheerful voice during our meetings. - Posted by: Barbara Johnson (Friend) on: Mar 21, 2013

  • Ana was a unique lady. I always looked forward to chatting with her as I did her hair over the years. She will be missed. My condolences to Ricardo and family. - Posted by: Pam Antila (Friend) on: Mar 20, 2013

  • Ana Rodriguez was a gracious, compassionate lady who gave service to the community of Thompson, Manitoba, in many ways and for many years. She administered the Multi-Cultural Centre for many years and was very involved with the Immigrant Women's Association being instrumental in making newcomers to the City of Thompson feel welcome and valued. Ana was proud of her Chilean heritage and, along with her husband Ricardo, delighted gatherings performing folk dancing from their native country. Ana seemed to make time for anyone and was selfless. She also did her share of community service. A teacher in her beloved country of origin, she served on the Board of Trustees of the School District of Mystery Lake for a number of years, where she worked closely with my late husband when he was in administration. Ana was also on the Board of Governors of what is now the University of the North. She was courteous, charming, always immaculately dressed and a stickler for etiquette. Her family was very important to her and I know she will leave a deep hole in their lives but she has left a legacy of a lifetime of examples for them to cherish and emulate. It grieves me that she has gone and I extend my sincere sympathy to Ricardo and their family. Valerie Wilson - Posted by: L. Valerie Wilson (Friend) on: Mar 19, 2013

  • Ana was a very dear friend to us. She was kind and considerate to those close to her. Her personality is reflected on the community services she provided for Thompson, where she lived for over 38 years. She made such a difference to the community that she was featured in a government publication entitled "Inspiring women: making a difference in Manitoba." Her passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Ana's memory will always remain deep in our hearts. - Posted by: Luis and Patricia Yanez (Friiends) on: Mar 19, 2013
