I miss him more and more each day, he left way too soon out of my life and I would do anything to get him back. Everyone one has such nice stories about my dad, but since I was born he was all I knew, hugged me when I was upset, helped me when I needed it, and kept me in line. He was the best friend anyone would ask for. I love him so much and it upsets me greatly knowing he will never walk me down the aisle (which he always wanted to do) and that he will never meet my kids, and joke around with them like he did with me. I still feel like my dad is with me, I just wish I could talk to him - Posted by: Tessa (Daughter) on: Jan 27, 2014

For Janis, Megan, Hailey, Tessa and Vaughn; Uncle Jacques, Auntie Linda and Duane, Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for your loss, and I regret not being able to tell you in person. Please know that while you are grieving, you are in our thoughts as we honour the memory of Curtis. My own memories of Curtis go back 25 years when he and Duane came to the same junior high school as David and I. I remember that: He was a very good athlete. He played all the sports he could and was especially talented at hockey. He was an outstanding musician. He could play the guitar as well as his dad, and it was eerie how much Curtis sounded like Garth Brooks when he wanted to. His best stuff though, was what he wrote and sang himself. He loved his family very much. I remember how happy he was when Megan was born, and I recall how good Janis and their children made him feel. There is no doubt in my mind that they were never very far from his thoughts and that he was very proud of them all. What I remember best, and what I appreciated most was his friendship. He didn’t tolerate injustice and was fierce in looking after his friends. His stubborn loyalty helped me many times and I loved him all the more for it. Please know that I will miss him terribly. Love always, Darren, Moji, Grace and Isaac. - Posted by: Darren Lemire (Cousin) on: Apr 01, 2013

This man was not just simply a man, he was an extraordinary husband, father, son, grandson, uncle, godfather, and friend. He was my best friend, my rock, and my lobster. He loved like nobody I've ever met, with extreme devotion and loyality. He would do anything and everthing for those who meant anything to him. He would defend his family and friends to the bitter end. If you hurt, he hurt. He hated to see anyone sad or upset and would not quit until his antics or compassion made you smile or laugh. Curtis was by far the funniest man I've ever known, and he loved to make people laugh. All of my best cackles and belly laughs was all due to him, and even with him gone, he has still made me smile & laugh. I woke up this morning and checked my blackberry photos and stumble upon our last ever photo together and at first, I bawled uncontrollably and then when I realized he had the cutest ever smile on but was always giving the bird, I instantly bursted out in uncontrollable laughter! I thanked him for that, good way to start this day. Your Megan, Hailey, Tessa, Vaughan and I love you Handsome with all our hearts and souls. You memory will live on FOREVER in all of us. Pass slowly, until we meet again. <3 - Posted by: Janis Lemire (Wife ) on: Mar 30, 2013

I never met Curtis personally but I regularly read his wife's tributes to him on facebook (and, on occasion, his responses) and I could feel the love and companionship between them. His father-in-law, Armand Gervais, spoke of him often and always with pride. My deepest condolences to Janis, the children, to his mother, Linda, and the rest of the family. - Posted by: Rusty Browning (4th cousin) on: Mar 30, 2013
