LAURA LUCILLE PALUK (nee BOCHNUIK) January 6, 1933 - April 15, 2013 It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Laura, who has traveled a long and crazy journey with her family by her side. Laura leaves to cherish her memory her husband Jack, daughters Joyce (Paul) and Sharon (Roger), sons Barry (Tracy) and John (Donna), sisters Elaine Pfeifer (Rudy), Connie Berezowski, and sister-in-law Elaine Twanow. She also leaves behind grandchildren John-Paul, Shereen, Danielle, Kent, Lezlee, Cole, Janna, Jenelle and James, and great-grandchildren Nicholas, Parker, Kamryn, Jase, Alivia, and William, plus many nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased by her son Bill, parents Elizabeth and Chrisanft, sisters Eva, Molly, Doris, Olga, and Liz, and brother Bill. Laura grew up on the family farm in Kamsack, SK, then later moved to Winnipeg, where she met her husband Jack, and where together they raised their family. From the time Laura was a young girl she took on the role of caregiver. This carried on through life as she raised her own family. She loved to cook... and won over her sons-in-law with her special recipes (potato pancakes - Paul and cheesecake - Roger). She loved to host all of the family gatherings, and loved being surrounded by her children and their families. Laura loved her babies... and bingo! Thank-you to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for all the care, love and support that you have given us all in this journey. You are special people! Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. Goodbye Pretty Lady!!

  • Uncle Jack, Joyce, Sharon, Barry and Johnny, Although we did not see a lot of Auntie Laura growing up, mom always spoke about her wonderful sisters with great love and laughter. Auntie Laura was very much like our mom in her quiet, thoughtful, caring ways. On those few times that I did get to spend time with her, she was warm, generous and reminded me so much of mom. We cousins are so lucky to have such wonderful Aunts. Auntie Laura will be greatly missed. All our love from your cousins in Ontario.
