My Aunt Jessie was my Godmother. She was a very kind, sweet special person. Although I didn't see her or talk to her very often, I was shocked and dismayed to hear that she passed, without anyone telling me. I believe that the last time I saw her, was when I went to pick up a duck or a goose she has rescued. A real animal lover. Maybe that's what joined our hearts together. - Posted by: Angela Peterson (Niece) on: Sep 18, 2018

As a dear and valued friend since high school years, I will miss our occasional visits whenever I visited my family in Winnipeg. Always calm and interesting, she demonstrated a peaceful spirit, faith in the goodness of life, love of her own children and her family of origin. She valued her privacy, music, reading as well as her friends. Jess joined my family for a celebration of my marriage some time after its occurrence at the Faculty Club in Winnipeg. Altho' no gifts were to be given, she insisted that I take a symbolic gift of a coffee cup with a robin's picture on it. I will continue to treasure it. This non-materialistic lady lived simply, honestly and gently. I'm happy to have shared time with her. - Posted by: Marie Pilek (friend since high school days) on: May 06, 2013

Jessie was a kind, understanding woman. As one of Dan's friends, I can only imagine what kind of mental torment we put her through during summer vacation when we'd be out till the wee hours, or how much she worried when Dan was off on a military exercise and wouldn't be able to communicate for days on end. She took it all in stride and her strength allowed her to smile when it was done, knowing that another such adventure was around the corner. She will be missed. - Posted by: Pedro Bedard (Friend of Dan's) on: May 06, 2013

We are saddened to hear of Jessie's passing. We spoke on the phone just a short time ago and she seemed to be responding well. Jessie was a lovely lady who handled her problems with grace and poise.
