ANASTASIA MASLIJ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anastasia Maslij on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Anastasia was born on December 15, 1922 in the village of Uizd, Western Ukraine. In 1972, she was sponsored to Canada by her husband Michael and later they sponsored their son, Stepan, daughter-in-law Yaroslava and their children Michael and Halia. She was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Anastasia leaves to mourn her son Stepan (Yaroslava); grandchildren Michael and Halia (Petro); great-grandchildren Andriyko and Tarasyk as well as family in Ukraine. She was predeceased by her husband Michael of Winnipeg; her parents, Harasym and Katyryna; brothers, Michael and Ivan; sisters, Olga and Anna all in Ukraine. The family would like to thank all the nurses from Home Care, Fr. L. Ratushniak, C.Ss.R., the Hull family and Andrew Wenger, who were there for her and visited her in the hospital. Very special thanks to Dr. Patel, Dr. Koczanski and the nurses who took loving care of Anastasia when she was in the hospital. Panakhyda will be sung 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 20 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
