ALBERT KHAC-XUONG DU April 21, 1917 - May 6, 2013 Peacefully, with his youngest daughter Michelle by his side, Dad passed away at the age of 96. He leaves his wife Diana, of 61 years, and children Joan, Richard and Michelle to celebrate his life. Dad will be fondly remembered for his love and devotion to family, generosity of spirit, hard work ethic, intelligence, thirst for knowledge, gift for foreign languages, penchant for physical fitness, travel, music and love of nature and animals. Dad had a successful career as the owner of medical clinics, pharmacies and a pharmaceutical distribution company in Vietnam and later in Canada, he was the owner of Champion's Restaurant which received many rave, critical reviews on a local, national and international level prior to his retirement in 1992. The family would like to acknowledge the special efforts of Master Huai Jin of the Bodhi Meditation Centre and express their utmost and sincere gratitude for his prayers and guidance. The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to the members of the Huasing Buddhist Temple for their prayers which offered Dad much solace in his final hours and greatly eased his passing. A private funeral will be held at a later date to honour Dad's memory. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the many family members and friends for their love, devotion and unwavering support. A special thanks to the ACCESS River East homecare team whose services allowed Dad to remain in his home with dignity until his hospitalization. The family would also like to thank the medical staff at Concordia Hospital, especially the health care aides and nurses of N1 North and South for their exceptional care and compassion. Donations can be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba; Alzheimer Society Manitoba; CancerCare Manitoba, or a charity of choice. Dad, you will be forever loved and cherished!
