Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Heavy hearts for my auntie Rona and her family. Grammy was such a special lady, the kind that left an impression on everyone she met. Sorry i cannot be there to help celebrate her life and pay my respects tomorrow, but I will be thinking about everyone. All my love. - Posted by: Heidi Guenther (Rona's Niece) on: May 29, 2013

  • Our Condolences to Rona, Rob & the entire Todd family. Grammie was like the energizer bunny. We thought she`d never stop. We remember her fondness for the Casino Slot Machines & hearing the coins jingle when she hit a Jackpot. Rest In Peace, Grammie. You have earned it. - Posted by: Jenni & George Hulme (Rob`s sister & Brother-in-law) on: May 29, 2013

  • Our thoughts are with Todd, Linda-Anne (& Ken), Taylor and Rona-Leigh as we remember this wonderful lady. do you remember when I brought her brother in law (Jock todd) to Canada to see her after 39 years and they both picked up and started chatting as if it had been only yesterday. Of course, for Bryan and I, the memory of this feisty lady coming to NZ to see us at 97 will be forever etched in our memory. what a wonderful time that was - we had such fun with Muriel. I cannot believe how she just kept going day after day as we revisited the places she had lived with Ed while in NZ. Our loving thoughts are with you all as you gather to celebrate Muriel's wonderful life. We were hoping to come over next year (my 60th) to see her so sad that she wont be there. From your NZ rellies - Mary, Bryan, Jon and Sam - Posted by: Mary and Bryan Geary (New Zealand) (Niece) on: May 28, 2013

  • I have been so blessed to have known dear sweet Grammie. What an amazing lady with so much spunk and always full of life. During one of my visits with her she showed me a paper in her purse, which she informed me that it was her bus pass to get downtown. SHE MADE IT! Rest in peace Sweet Muriel. We will miss you dearly. Thank you Rona for letting me be a part of your lives! - Posted by: Janet Doerksen (Friend) on: May 28, 2013

  • I had the privilege of being a close friend of the family since 1994 and I have the bragging rights of being informally adopted by Grammie. She had the dry humor down pat and you never knew what would come out of her mouth next. We had laughs constantly, we have massive amounts of story telling, scoldings, finger pointing, trips, lunches, tea and down right fun. I will always have her in my heart and am honoured to have known her. She liked to see my uniform so I will honour her by wearing my full dress uniform so she can look upon me and tell me "I don't think you're all that intimidating". I love you and will always have you in my heart. Rona, Lindy, Blair and Taylor Thank You for being in my life and letting me share Grammie with you. Peace to all. • I met Mom Todd 39 years ago. She treated me like a daughter and I'm so happy for the times we spent together. Best was playing cards with her many times. I also remember that in Steinbach, didn't matter when you dropped by, she was always happy to see you. I also enjoyed helping her with the puzzles she always had on the go. Rest in peace Mom Todd. You lived a long & prosperous life. You'll never be forgotten - Posted by: Diane Friesen (Friend) on: May 27, 2013

  • We only met her once at the funeral of our own dear Mom last year. She was so delightful and I'm glad I got to meet her. Rest in Peace - Posted by: bernie&Irene Driedger (friend) on: May 27, 2013

  • What a beautiful picture of a sweet, lively little lady. It was our pleasure getting to know her in her latter years. Loved visiting with her and hearing her stories from years gone by right up to her many trips in the last few years. She was quite the gal. Love to you all. - Posted by: Jane and Jerry Anderson (Friends) on: May 27, 2013
