Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET FISHER FAIRLIE (nee KINKEAD) 1923 - 2013 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother at Rosewood Lodge on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 with family at her side. Born in Winnipeg, MB on December 2, 1923. Margaret will be forever remembered by her four children, Betty Ann, David (Barb), Janet (Blair) and Maureen, and her grandchildren Derek, Phil (Katherine), Brooke (Chris), Tara (Dennis), Kevin (Allison), Jeff (Verna), Bob (Stacey), Heather (Lance), and 17 great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by husband John, her parents William and Elizabeth, brother Bill Kinkead and sister Grace Hawman, grandsons Ryan Fairlie and Neil Johnson. Mom lived in Winnipeg and moved to Argyle where she met and married Dad. In 1955 the family moved to Warren. After Dad's death in 1961 she remained in Warren and raised her four children. In 2010 she moved into Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall. Mom took her nursing at RRCC in 1971 and worked at the Misericordia Hospital for 15 years and took an early retirement. Retirement brought new joys. Mom enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening and entertaining family and friends. Watching and encouraging her grandchildren was her greatest joy. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their kindness and excellent care over the past three years. Special thanks to the rec staff Carrie and Kim for keeping mom entertained and drop in visits with family. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on June 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie's Funeral Home in Stonewall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Community of Associated Living or Rosewood Lodge. MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

I first met Margaret at Parkhill years ago. I admired her hard work and how she cared so much for her family. She came to our wedding in 1967. She has always remained a friend and holds a very special place in my heart. Love Cam & Jean - Posted by: Cam & Jean (Long time friends) on: Jun 03, 2013

I remember Margaret and the girls from their days running the cafeteria at Parkhill Bedding & Furniture back in 1966. She was always fun to be around and was "unflappable" no matter how busy she was. - Posted by: Dianna Brown (Old Acquaintance) on: Jun 02, 2013

I will miss you my friend. I enjoyed our card games and helping with your baking and catering. You were truly and inspiration. I remember our trips to Winnipeg for ice cream after your long day at work you would pile all us kids in the car and head back to the city for ice cream. You treated me as one of your own and were my rock when Mom and Dad passed. Rest in Peace my friend you shall be missed. - Posted by: Patricia Urquhart (nee Schendel) (Friend) on: Jun 01, 2013
