Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE (KATIE) ZAYIK (nee CHYZZY) Katie Zayik passed away peacefully on May 31, 2013 at the beautiful age of 98. Katie was predeceased by her husband Paul, their first born son (at birth), parents Fred and Mary Chyzzy, daughter-in-law Lorraine, son-in-law John Thiessen, grandson John Jr., four sisters and seven brothers. Katie is survived by son Walter (Louise), daughter Verna Val, son Fred (Jennie), eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, four sisters, one brother, and numerous family members. Katie was born in Rembrandt, MB, on September 6, 1914. Grew up in Sylvan, later market gardened in Bird's Hill with Paul and children and retired to Arborg. Viewing will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Parish, 505 Watt St., Winnipeg. Interment at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Middle Church Home for their wonderful care. Fred, Lori, Sherry, Freddie and Murray - we are so sorry to hear of Bubba Zayik's passing. Sending sympathy to you all during this difficult time.
