GIUSEPPE BUCCINI Peacefully on June 1, 2013 at Grace Hospital with family by his side, Giuseppe passed away at the age of 103 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children: daughter Maria Luigina, and sons Antonio (Pierina), Carmine (Emilia) and Giovanni. He will also be missed by seven grandchildren Bruno (Nancy), Mario (Andrea), Carlo, Giuseppe (Anna), Rosanna (Tim), Gianna (Gianni) and Lorella (Flavio), along with seven great-grandchildren, and his sister Marietta in Rome. Giuseppe was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Maria Requilda, as well as two sisters and two brothers. Giuseppe was born in Villalago, Italy on August 9, 1909 and proudly served in the Second World War as a bugler. He immigrated to Canada on April 7, 1954 and worked at Pritchard Engineering and Motor Coach Industries in Winnipeg until his retirement at 65 years of age. Giuseppe lived his life to the fullest every day and loved being in the company of family, friends and the community. He spent his retired days tending to his garden and volunteering at the Casa d'Italia for 15 years. Peppino, as he was known by friends, loved to ride his bike around the West End and often fixed bikes for children in the area that would seek him out in his backyard workshop. He would also spend many of his days at Polo Park Shopping Centre and loved nothing more than sitting on a bench and conversing with friends and strangers. His smile and personality was infectious and will be sadly missed by all those that knew him. The family would like to thank Dr. Ramon Jovel for his many years of personal and compassionate care. Sincerest thanks also go out to all of the Home Care staff that cared for Giuseppe over the past five years and to the doctors and staff at the Grace Hospital for their kindness and empathy during his final days. Viewing will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Avenue and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. with Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations in Giuseppe's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.

GIUSEPPE BUCCINI Our father Giuseppe Buccini peacefully passed away, at 103 years of age, on June 1, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Avenue. A longer obituary will follow in Saturday's edition.
