MARION EVANGELINE SMITH Peacefully on June 7, 2013, Marion Evangeline Smith (nee Bartel) passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 78 years. Marion was born January 1, 1935 in Drake, SK, growing up on the family farmstead. Marion is predeceased by her parents Cornelius and Marie Bartel, her husband George Fredrick Smith, her sisters Naomi Gagné, Lottie Ewert, and her brothers Erling Bartel, and Jacob Bartel. Marion is survived by her three children Sandra Bonneteau (Gerry), Sharon Vercaigne (Mike), and Liana Rattai (Vince), as well as grandchildren Nathan and Alyson Vercaigne, and Brendan, Garrett, and Thalia Rattai. Marion is also survived by her brother Ed Bartel, and sister Eunice Stobbe. A private family service will be taking place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a mission of your choice.
