DAVID BENNETT On July 13, 2013, David Bennett was suddenly taken from us in a motorcycle accident. He was dearly loved and will always be remembered. He is survived by his wife, Dagmar Bennett, and his son Dean Andrew Bennett. Linda Schmidt could not have wished for a greater son-in-law. Not only will he be remembered for loving his family deeply but also for living life to the fullest. He left that day knowing that he was cherished by his family and died doing something he had a passion for and that gave him great joy: riding his Harley with his friends on a beautiful day on the open road. However you live and wherever you go, love freely. A celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy 1 East, at Navin Road, close to Tinkertown. There will be no reception after the service. Please come early if you would like to speak with the family. Bring your bike, as there will be special parking for motorcycles. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of such a wonderful man. Dave stands out in my mind for so many reasons - his unwavering passion for music, his ever-present smile, and his obvious love and care for those around him, including me. He really wore his heart on his sleeve as the saying goes, and what a big heart it was. Dave always made me feel like I really mattered and I am sure that was a gift he gave to many. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all members of Dave's family. I will really miss him. - Posted by: Janice Finlay (friend, teacher) on: Jul 21, 2013

I first met David at my tender age of 7. He practiced in a band; in the basement of my parent's grocery/restaurant business, Regent Grocery. Better known as Andree's.... at Hoka & Regent. I'd spent hours upon hours watching him drum with such sheer passion. It soon had me drumming with wooden spoons on the restaurant stools. I also remember him drinking his many coffees black. - Posted by: Paul Andree (inspired musical aquaintance) on: Jul 21, 2013

I didn't know Dave that long, but he made me feel very welcome when I joined the HOG Chapter. I found him to be a very skilled rider & was usually helpful in giving out pointers to me. Wherever you are Dave, may you always have a full tank, & clear skies to ride. - Posted by: Randy A. Allen (Fellow H.O.G. Member) on: Jul 20, 2013

David was one of my route instructors in 1994 at wpg transit. he had showed how to stay calm under pressure. I later found out that year he was a musician and a drummer such as myself. a few years later found out he was a motorcycle enthusiast. Long roads are driven hard ........but true brothers are always in arms. I love you my brother, music and the roads won't be the same. - Posted by: Lee Daniels (friend, fellow drummer, former co'worker) on: Jul 19, 2013

I did not know David but wished to offer sincere condolences. Life does have unexpected occurrences, but the scriptures provide comfort when these tragedies strike. For example, John 5:28,29 indicates that "those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." What a wonderful promise, our lost loved ones will live again. Through the comfort from the scriptures, we can have a hope for the future. - Posted by: Someone who cares () on: Jul 19, 2013

I met Dave at Midwest Karate, where he trained under Sensei Jerry Marr. He had been a student for quite a while & attended the noon hour classes, as he was working in the band at night time. At that time he had a brown belt. I remember him as a very friendly guy, and had a great sense of humor. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Donece Hughes (friend) on: Jul 18, 2013

Dave's good nature and willingness to help out will certainly be missed by those knew him. I always enjoyed chatting with him about his latest riding adventures. He was certainly proud of his Harley and the Veteran plates he had just recently acquired. - Posted by: Douglas Houghton (Fellow rider and member of Coalition of Manitoba Motorcycle Groujps) on: Jul 18, 2013
