Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • There should be more "new Canadians" telling here stories about how Jim was among the few people who really cared about us, really was eager to help and to land a hand when needed... Both for my wife, Tatjana, and myself Jim was the face of the "better" Canada (even though not being a real Canadian!) that made us feel at home in this country. We miss you! RIP, Jim Wolf. - Posted by: Istvan Horvath (friend (if I may say so)) on: Jul 21, 2013

  • Reading these stories of how Jim touched your lives is so comforting for me. When he moved to Canada in his twenties his new life began. He rarely shared stories of his work. I think he was being respectful of the people he was helping and he was also quite modest. As a big brother I remember how he would find solutions to any problems that came up and what a great listener he was. He was a priest in his heart even when he was a little kid. Jim also had a sense of adventure and fun. He was the best big brother anyone could ask for. The best tribute any one could pay to Jim is doing a random act of kindness in his honor. It was his way. Thank you all so much. Share the love. - Posted by: Margaret (Peggy) Wolf (sister) on: Jul 20, 2013

  • Our deepest sympathy to your family at this very sad time. We felt very honored and privileged to have known Jim. May his soul rest in peace. - Posted by: The Bergdahl's (Friends/Family) on: Jul 19, 2013

  • Our family sends our sincere condolences at this time. Jim was very much a part of our family and helped us through very hard times, when family members were ill and passed on. He will always be remembered in our hearts. - Posted by: Sharon Dupre (Sweet) (Family friend) on: Jul 19, 2013

  • I grew up across the street from Jimmy and his family and have many fond memories of going to the Drive In Theater in their station wagon, camping out in the back yard and playing baseball in the street.....Jimmy you will be missed! - Posted by: Steve Beene (neighbor in Dallas) on: Jul 19, 2013

  • Jim was one of the kindest people I've had the pleasure to know. He officiated at my first marriage and baptized both my children. Jim was not only our Minister but a dear family friend, being kind enough to speak at our Dad's funeral in 2011. He will be greatly missed by not only his family but by everyone who had the honour of meeting him. - Posted by: Cathy Kelly () on: Jul 18, 2013

  • Jim was a "Big" man with a warm heart, I met him at Camp Wapatek 84. He shared his life story with me and I with him, we both loved the guitar and singing. I visited with Jim and his son one night when they lived downtown, greeted with a bear hug was his way, I will miss him. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Ken Kowaluk (Former Camp Counsellor at Camp Wapatek(Anglican Island)) on: Jul 18, 2013

  • Such a great man to leave this earth too soon. Jim taught me about the gift of listening. Never have I met someone who listened like Jim did. He was a confidante, a friend, a guiding hand, and had a great way of finding just the right thing to say. He baptized me into the Anglican church at 19 years old, and was a guiding figure through my years at TEC and in AYM. He was a blessing to us all. He will be missed. - Posted by: Lori Flood (Friend/parishioner) on: Jul 18, 2013

  • Jim Wolf was a wonderful, caring man who had an extraordinary ability to connect with young people. He found creative ways to reach out to youth, and guide them toward realizing potential and accepting responsibility for their contributions to the world. His teachings were meaningful to me because he led by example, and I especially appreciated that he was a man of faith who was also open and inclusive to all, regardless of their religion or beliefs. Thank you, Jim, for your passion and dedication to making our world better. - Posted by: David Brown (member of youth group/congregation) on: Jul 18, 2013

  • Jim was an essential part of my Christian life. As a teenager, he made going to church comfortable and fun. You could feel the genuine love and belief he preached every time you spoke to him. I will always remember him as the loving father of my Christ Church family. - Posted by: Karen MacArthur (Brown) (parishioner/friend) on: Jul 18, 2013

  • Jim was an amazing person, priest and friend. People who had the privilege of knowing Jim, especially through his works at Teens Encounter Christ and Anglican Youth Ministry are feeling this loss immensely. My heart and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. - Posted by: Christy Bettess Schmidt (Friend) on: Jul 18, 2013
