Condolences & Memories (52 entries)

  • I loved, and still do love Betty (or Grandma Betty, as I called her). Even nearly half a year later, I vividly remember my mom crying as she walked in our house and saying, between sobs, "There was an accident." The words that would later make me nearly more emotional than I had been in my entire life. My mom and Margie are good friends, and my mom stood by the family during that difficult time. I did not really know what someone dying meant, as no one close to me had died before that fatal day. With time I have let go but I have never forgotten. Remember Betty, one day we will join you. - Posted by: tegan makowsky (friend of family) on: Feb 24, 2014

  • To Joe and Betty's Family, So very sorry for your loss and I am going to miss seeing her down in Texas. • We were in Kelowna when we heard the devastating news. It was difficult to accept that this fun loving lady was taken away from us so tragically. To hear that a nurse was at the scene was comforting. Thinking of you with all our love. - Posted by: Jeff & Norma Hegarty (Friends (LDB & P 2 P)) on: Aug 01, 2013

  • Our deepest sympathy to Margie, Tracey and your dear families. Morris and Larry played ball together. Betty was always there sharing in the happy hours and cheering the boys on. One special time we shared with Betty & her dear friend Rita tubing in Red lake falls with the ball team. Betty with a beer in hand tubing down the river laughing like heck. We treasure all those happy times. Morris will be waiting with open arms and a beer saying what took you so long. We lost a very dear friend and will miss her sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile.
