ADELINE AMALIE MATTHEW (nee BUXMAN) April 12, 1928 - July 16, 2013 With great sadness the family announces the passing of Adeline Matthew at her residence on July 16, 2013 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her beloved parents Molly and Fred Buxman. She is survived by her husband Stanley of 61 years. Also fondly remembering Addie is her Aunt Elsie Popiel, many cousins and special friends. Adeline was a devoted and loving daughter and wife. Her caring presence was constant, providing selfless support for her parents and husband even in the face of her own many health challenges. Adeline also demonstrated her generosity of spirit through her ongoing donations to many charities. She was an animal lover who had a soft spot for cats, feeding or taking in any cat that had lost its way. The numerous cats she had over the years were cared for like family members. Adeline was employed for many years as an administrative assistant for the City of Winnipeg at City Hall and also at Canada Safeway. She had a strong work ethic and ensured that all her work was done to the highest standard. Adeline loved the West Elmwood community in which she lived for many years. She appreciated the watchful eye and assistance of her neighbours and friends who were always concerned of her well-being. The family would like to convey our sincere appreciation to Harry Defoort and Wendy Josephson for their kindness and friendship given to Addie over the years. We also express our great thanks to Dr. P.G. Mehta, the family physician to Adeline, Stanley and her parents over many years. Adeline's unwavering strength of spirit in the face of any obstacle, no matter how great, will be a lasting inspiration to us all. Donations in Adeline's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of one's choice would be graciously appreciated. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. A reception will follow the funeral service. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery. Always In Our Hearts
