Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I was just visiting my Mom this week (Marie Hughes) and she told me of your Mom's passing. I was very sad and shocked to hear of the news. I saw her and your Uncle John funeral and I thought she looked wonderful. We worked together at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, first as a Health Care Aid and then as a Nurse. She was a great Mentor and I really appreceiated her knowledge. She will be missed. - Posted by: Scarlette Ulrich (Friend and co worker) on: May 13, 2014

  • I worked with Ellen for many years at the Princess Elizabeth. She was always a dedicated and caring nurse. She loved nursing. She always did her best for patients and was highly respected. I would see her going for walks in St.Vital Park. I will miss her. - Posted by: Dennis St Laurent (Co-worker) on: Jul 27, 2013

  • I was happy to meet Ellen a couple of times on my trips to Winnipeg. What a neat lady... so much in love with her family. She was so happy to be in the life of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren...(and they were sooo cute ) I am sorry that her life was cut short. I had hopes of having some more fun times with her... I am sure that all of you will miss her very much, God Be with each of you through this time of loss. - Posted by: sylvia omm (2nd cousin) on: Jul 26, 2013

  • My sincere sympathy to all the family. I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing. She was a great lady & a wonderful nurse. I moved to Calgary in 1983, but kept in touch with the Hosp group that went to Hawaii. Your mother being one of them. We had good times & great memories. In 1992 your mom & I flew to Hawaii the big Island & went on a bus trip to see the after effects of the 1989 Volcano. She was there in 94 & 95 & in 1996 we went to Moloki & visited the Hosp where there are still some Leprosy patients. Ellen was at a city of Wpg Retiree luncheon in 2012 & we had a nice visit. I came in from my cottage in Lake of the woods where I come to every summer so I was quite shocked now to hear about her. - Posted by: Donna McCormick (Friend & co -worker at Princess Elizabethn Hospital) on: Jul 26, 2013
