Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY NADURAK Mary Nadurak (nee Gordichuk), age 98, passed away peacefully at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home on Friday, July 19, 2013. Born on January 21, 1915 in Luzan, AB, Mother was the eldest of the nine children of Kalena and Pentely Gordichuk. She attended school at Hairy Hill, where she met Nicholas Nadurak. They married in 1932 and moved to Edmonton where Mom ran her hair salon while Dad was in the Air Force. In 1947, they moved to Winnipeg, MB. Mom lived an active, full and productive life. Widowed in 1974, she continued working at St. Boniface Hospital, retiring' in 1980. She created finely crocheted tablecloths, knitted intricate baby sets and afghans, travelled, read biographies, gardened, and more. Hosting family gatherings were her best-loved times. Her beautifully prepared dinners were enjoyed by all, even when we dropped in unexpectedly. Her love, care and devotion to her family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. Our mother loved having the house filled with people. We thank family, friends, and great neighbours for all their help and many visits. This allowed her to live in the family home on Langevin St. in St. Boniface for 62 years, until she was 94. We are grateful to her many care givers for the last four years, as her mobility and independence decreased. Mother was predeceased by her sweet baby Eileen Judith in l943, husband Nick in l974, her beloved grandson, David Dudar in 2000, great-grandson Jackson Dudar in 2006, and six of her siblings. Left to mourn her passing are son William (Joan), daughter Lillian Dudar, daughter Elizabeth (Henryk Mordarski); grandchildren Jo-Anne Benson (Will), William (Tannis), Katie Mordarski, Michael Dudar (Dana), Maria Spratt (Ross); great-grandchildren Dean Benson, Nicole (Shaun) Wade, Christine Benson; great-grandchildren Stewart, Liam and Samuel Nadurak, Dany Dudar, great-great-grandson Noah Shaun Wade; brother Orest and sister, Rachel Knopp. Our mother met the many challenges that life presented her with courage and strength. She felt deeply, expected a lot of herself, and wanted the best for all. She held us close to her heart. She has left some of herself in each of us. We will miss her dearly. Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 1175 Main Street, with interment at Glen Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 1175 Main Street or to a charity of one's choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193
