Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Tante Elma was a special woman. As a child I loved driving onto her yard. She was usually in the garden and we'd hop out of the car and eat fresh carrots, peas, whatever was in season. In later years I loved going to her fabric shop in the basement of her home. She laughed easily and that's what I'll remember most about her. You will be missed Tante Elma. - Posted by: Daryl Reimer (family friend) on: Aug 01, 2013

  • I was fortunate to meet Elma and Burton through friends of Burton's when he was a grain buyer in western Manitoba. The Ryans introduced me and we had a relationship for over 17 years. It was always a pleasure to meet with them. My last visit with Elma was in early June and we had a wonderful visit. My sympathies go out to the family. - Posted by: Barry Twerdun () on: Jul 31, 2013

  • Long time very special neighbour in Rosenort, Mb. I remember Elma as a very friendly and forgiving Person. One summer day I was going to spray her's and our yards for dandelion weeds. By mistake I got the wrong chemical and killed most of the grass as well. I felt really horrible! When we met at our yard border to discuss the situation and my most humble apologies she said, "well, at least we will have very little grass to mow" and with her easy laughter she said she forgave me! Needless to say, we had the most weed free lawns in Rosenort...... My Prayers are with your family at this time. May you find Rest and Peace in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ knowing that Mom, Grandma is in Heaven! Although time doesn't really heal, but in time we are able to live without Elma's physical presence more easily. You will always remember Her and miss Her very much.
