So very sad to hear of Tony's passing. He taught me stage presence and then sent me out front in "The 101st". Many productions and even a film followed for me. Can never thank you enough for all you taught me. - Posted by: Michael A Connors (Former Cast Member of Actor's Showcase) on: May 13, 2015

I can't imagine a more valiant person who faced life with a smile through many events. A gracious man with wonderful friends, he spoke of having good friends, I know he will be missed. - Posted by: Steve (visitor) on: Sep 09, 2013

In 1979-81, I was a student of his at Actor's Showcase. I learnt a lot from him and for the last 14 years have been very active in the movie industry of Manitoba. Thanks Tony! Peace! - Posted by: Noreen Roeland Poirier (former student) on: Sep 06, 2013

When I was 12 years old, a neighbor suggested that I take a drama class to keep me busy one summer. The teacher of that class was Tony Pydee. His passion, love and enjoyment of theatre literally changed my life. I continue to be involved with theatre and have since gotten three degrees in the field. Tony got me to write my first essay, on Stanislavski. He taught me to think, feel and love theatre. Thank you Tony. - Posted by: Dr. Frances Bitney (former student) on: Sep 05, 2013

I met Tony when I was singing at Rainbow Stage 1969 where he performed. He was friends to everyone and dedicated to his work. Peace. - Posted by: Tom Dojack (friend) on: Sep 04, 2013

Tony was a warm caring genuine person and I am forever grateful for having had him as a friend. He saw me through many things in my life and his kind words and understanding always made me realize that things were never as bad as I made them out to be. Tony was consistent always happy always laughing and alwasy had a positive out look on life. I will miss your jokes and will remember Sunday mornings drinking coffee and watching House of Frightenstein. Good times So long buddy Jeff Francis - Posted by: jeff francis (friend) on: Sep 03, 2013

R.I.P. Tony. He was my theatre mentor and first acting coach. I did so many plays with him I can't even count. He gave me the opportunity to create my own work, and stage the plays I wanted to do, under his producing efforts. He wasn't perfect and we often disagreed but he always supported me when I needed it. I owe him a lot. 8 years of doing play after play with him and his troupe of actors really influenced who I am today. Thank you Tony, words cannot express my gratitude for all you did for me nor my sorrow at knowing you have left us. You will be missed. - Posted by: Steven Stiller (friend/student) on: Sep 02, 2013

I remember Tony very well. He was one of the best directors and acting teachers I was lucky to be with. Even if the shows we did were simple community theater shows, he still expected us all to give 100% to our performance. That's how it should be with every acting job. I also remember his humorous way of directing us in our mistakes. Most directors would hurl insults unapologetically. He was humorous about it. Also unlike most directors, he had a pleasant attitude when talking to us off stage. Thank you Tony. It was a pleasure knowing you while you were around. I will miss you. - Posted by: Jon Lewak (Former Acting Student) on: Aug 31, 2013
