MARJORIE (MADGE) ALICE FELDSTED (nee MAIN) Marjorie (Madge) Alice Feldsted (nee Main) passed quietly in her sleep on Sunday, September 8, 2013. She was born July 7, 1938 in qand raised at her parents' farm at Balmoral, MB. Madge always considered Balmoral as her home, no matter where she lived or travelled. She leaves behind her life partner and loving husband John; daughter Shelley and Glen Shultz, grandchildren Damon and Paige Tomko (Winnipeg, MB); son Sean Feldsted (Gimli, MB); son Ian and Ellen Feldsted, grandchildren Kjaer and Kaleigh (Edson, AB); brother Reg and Joan Main (Balmoral, MB); brother Glenn and Jean Main (Balmoral, MB); brother-in-law Thor and Dixie Fjeldsted (Lethbridge, AB); brother-in-law Hal and Cindy Fjeldsted (Fort Francis, ON); many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Madge retired from a career in banking in 1993. Her last position was with the CIBC at Gimli, MB. She then turned her full attention to the loves of her life - her extended family, home and yard, her joy in bird watching and feeding and her love of the outdoors and nature. She was delighted in and felt fortunate to count her children and family among her very best friends. In 1991 Madge was the driving force behind the creation of Bjorn's Hamili, a residence for adult men with mental disabilities located near Gimli, MB. Madge and John's son, Sean, resides there to this day. The residence has blossomed and is home to four residents much to her satisfaction. In 2005, Madge was diagnosed with breast cancer and following successful treatment remained cancer-free until her passing. She was stricken with illness again in early April 2013, and despite valiant efforts to recover, finally succumbed to renal failure. We will long for her smiling face, her warmth and kindness, her light-hearted sense of humour, and her easily given friendship. The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the staff at S.I.C.U., Dr. D. Perry and his team at the Health Sciences Centre Rehabilitation Hospital and others who provided care and consideration for our wife, mother and grandmother through her last months. In accordance with Madge's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at the Balmoral Community Hall, Balmoral, MB at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make a donation to the Kidney Foundation, the Manitoba Cancer Society or the Health Sciences Centre Foundation in her name. • Dear John,Shelley,Sean,Ian, I am so sorry for your loss. You will miss her kindness and quiet generosity of spirit. Although Madge and I lost contact in latter years, she has been in my heart and thoughts with trusting friendship for at least 70 years. I cherish the warmth of those memories and know her spirit will always be close. You all are in my thoughts at this sad and difficult time.
