MARGUERITE SUSANA (BEAL) CASEY (BONNE)
Born: Jun 01, 1925
Date of Passing: Sep 06, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE SUSANA (BEAL) CASEY (nee BONNE) June 1, 1925 - September 6, 2013 At the St. Boniface Hospital, due to failing health after an emergency abdominal surgery, Marguerite passed away at the age of 88. She tried but was not able to realize her goal of matching her mother's amazing lifespan of 102 years. Marguerite was the eldest of seven children born to Emerick and Maria Bonne. She was predeceased by her sister Elsie Arnusch; brothers Ed and Oscar; husband Bert Beal; second husband Ted Casey; infant son Robert Beal; infant granddaughter Stacy Carriere, and daughter-in-law Sandra Beal. Marguerite is survived by her children Ross (Dorothy) Beal of Asquith, SK, Bert Beal of Lorette, MB, Joan (Don) Carriere of Winnipeg, MB, Mary (Melvin) Glenister of Saskatoon, SK, Grace (Ed) Pelletier of Winnipeg, MB and Ken (Wanda) Beal of Regina, SK; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by her brother Bob (Alice) Bonne; sisters Irene Reitmeier and Jenny Lowe; sisters-in-law Irene Bonne, Judy Bonne and Mary Murphy as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marguerite had lived at the Golden Links Lodge in St. Vital since March and had previously resided at Rotary Villa in Fort Garry for six years. She was known for her talents of sewing, knitting, crocheting and baking. The family always looked forward to her treats of baked goods and handmade crafts. She was also a very skilled cribbage player and was very lucky at Bingo - her favourite pastime. Over the past few years, life had become challenging. Her mobility changed considerably after knee replacement surgery in 2007 and her abilities were increasingly compromised by dementia. She loved to live independently and the family provided support with assistance from the Home Care Program for as long as possible. While many of her previous interests became more and more difficult for her, Marguerite still enjoyed playing cards. The most enjoyable recent experiences for her were singing along to musical entertainment - proud that she could remember the words to the old songs. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care and the Paramedics who transported Mom safely to Victoria Hospital, and later to St. Boniface Hospital. We are also grateful to the Home Care Coordinator, Connie Taillon, for her kind and thoughtful assistance over the past few years and to the staff at Rotary Villa and Golden Links Lodge. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you so wish, please honour Marguerite's memory with a donation to Golden Links, Rotary Villa or any charity of your choice. As per Marguerite's wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. A private interment will follow at a later date near her infant son at Thompson "In the Park" Cemetery. My childhood memories always include running out of my home on Byng Place, saying going over to the Joan and Mary's . There would always be an open door and a friendly Hi whenever you entered and joined "the" family. My sympathies to you all. Bev - Posted by: Beverly Anne Turick ( Barker) ((friend)) on: Sep 17, 2013
