Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVALENTINA SLYWYNSKYJ Peacefully on Sunday morning, September 8, 2013, Valentina departed this world. Valentina was predeceased by loving and loyal husband, Osyp, and was the devoted Mama of George, Alex (Roksoliana), and Oksana; loving Baba of Ksenia (Iain), Olenka (Andrij), Ivanka (Pavlo), and Oleksa and joyous Prababa of Mykola and Sophia. Panakhyda will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 13 at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church, 263 Fountain St. at Logan Ave. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Deep gratitude is expressed to Holy Family Home and its exceptional staff. Special and heartfelt thanks to Terry, dear goddaughter Darka, and supportive friends. Baba Valya was always such as warm and welcoming person, she insisted on making sure her guests were well looked after and well fed. Her plyatsok (apple cake) was legendary as was her hospitality and good nature.
