Our dad was born on September 14, 1924 to Peter B. and Elizabeth Kroeker in Clearspring, Manitoba. Dad had many jobs including working for the City of Steinbach for approx. 25 years. The past 30 years he enjoyed his job cutting the fairways at the Steinbach FlyIn Golf Course which he was currently doing until the day before his passing. Dad loved his job at the Fly In and the family was very appreciative of the opportunity he had to work there. Dad has been an avid bowler since the early 1980s and was still bowling four times a week. Richard had a heart for Special Olympic Bowlers. On Saturday afternoons you could always find him at the bowling alley cheering them on. Dad also really enjoyed attending church at Emmanuel Free in the recent years, never missing a Sunday. He will certainly be missed by extended family and many friends. A special thank you to the quick and caring response from EMS and the RCMP. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 360 McKenzie Ave., Steinbach, MB at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Heritage Cemetery. Donations may be made to Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church Missions Fund. Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
