JEAN WIDISH It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful mother Jean Denise Widish, wife, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the age of 82 years. Left to forever cherish her memory are her children Larry (Irene), Connie, Sharon (Larry), Jeanette (Wally), Debbie (Peder) and her grandchildren whom she adored: Melissa (Troy), Daniel, Lee (Krista), Lisa (Isaac), Shannon (Mike), Eva and Sarah. She is survived by her sister Stella Tyluk, Ann Zaboroski and Olga Tondevold and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Eva and Mike Weresuik, husband John, brother John and sister Florence. Jean was born January 1, 1931 in Riverton, Manitoba. Mom married the love of her life John on November 19, 1949. She worked as a homemaker from the age of 18 until retirement. She also worked on the farm milking cows, tending to a large garden and raised five children with her husband John. Jean had a passion for music and taught herself to play guitar. She also took pleasure in writing many songs, one of which was published. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking (pumpkin pies). As well, Jean liked listening to a variety of music, dancing, taking long drives in the country, going for walks and especially visiting with her children and grandchildren. She was known for and very proud of her beautiful flower garden as well as vegetable garden that she shared with many. Our family would like to thank the staff at Tudor House Personal Care Home in Selkirk for the compassionate care given to our mom for almost nine years. We would like to thank our family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • With deep sympathy to all my cousins in the passing of a wonderful, loving woman. I remember her as a vivacious, enthusiastic engaging person. She always chose the high road and saw the glass as half full rather than half empty. Maureen joins me in honoring the passage of a well loved mother and favoured aunt. I cannot profess to know of her latter years but cherish her as I knew her in her youth and middle years. God bless her and one and all. - Posted by: Morris and Maureen Widish (Nephew and wife) on: Oct 11, 2013
