  • We met Wayne when he was baseball convenor. We were new softball convenors and appreciated his advice, and company at the registration desk. I also enjoyed seeing him at the range on occasion. A great gentleman. Great company. He will be missed. Our thoughts are with you. Rob and Janice Cook - Posted by: Rob and Janice Cook (fellow richmond kings convenors) on: Nov 07, 2013

  • Dear Lori and family, We are very sad to hear about Wayne. Our deepest condolences on your loss. As former Winnipegers, we remember Wayne as a great dad, community club volunteer, sportsman, and good neighbour (fellow backyard squirrel hunter )and all around great guy. It's been a few years since we've been in touch but please know that you, Julie, Jen, Mark and Eric are in our thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Cynthia, David, and Liz Kent () on: Nov 05, 2013

  • I met Wayne through the Winnipeg South Minor Baseball Board. I was convenor at Charleswood when he led the program at Richmond Kings. Wayne's voice was always a thoughtful one, always seeking solutions, and always prioritizing things that would most benefit the boys and girls on the fields. A kind and caring man. My sincere condolences. - Posted by: Mike Anderson (Friend) on: Oct 20, 2013

  • I was too young to remember, but I’m told that as a baby, I shared a hospital room with Wayne, whom is seven years my senior. We were both in for surgery and this must have made the experience a lot less frightening for the little boy that he would have been. What I do remember fondly are the many summers spent at the farm and how much of that time was spent tagging along with Wayne. There was always much work to be done, be it haying or harvesting or tending to livestock, but we always managed to sneak off every now and then to do some fishing or hunting. Later in life, I followed him to Canada Packers and then to Red River College where I enrolled in what was his second choice of study. I will truly miss his intelligence and his words of wisdom, and of course, no one will ever forget his sense of humour. In thinking about it, I will miss him more as the big brother that he was as opposed to that of just being an uncle. - Posted by: Darren Rebillard () on: Oct 18, 2013

  • So sorry to hear of your loss. Wayne and I co-coached girls fastball for many years as our daughters moved up from community club fastball at Richmond Kings CC and then on to "A" level fastball with the Manitoba Magic. Many happy memories from those years watching our girls develop and enjoy the game. Jan and I regret that we will not be able to be with you on Saturday as we are out of the City until next week. - Posted by: Rob Waddell (Friend) on: Oct 18, 2013

  • I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to know Wayne as a fellow baseball convenor and coach. I'll forever have those memories of watching our boys play ball together and just being boys. I was so sad today when I heard the news and wanted to be sure to pass along my thoughts to the family, in particular Eric and Lori. - Posted by: Kevin Kozielec (Friend) on: Oct 17, 2013

  • Anyone who knew Wayne knew that he was the best of the best. He never let me down, and he was always there for me - as far back as when I was a disheveled little girl, followed by when he spent time teaching me how to do my algebra lessons. Most recently he was there with his big hugs & heart-felt genuine words when my family was struck by tragedy. His quirky sense of humor & infectious smile will surely be missed. A piece of my heart leaves with Wayne, I will remember and love him always. My boys and I send our love to Lori, Julie, Jen, Mark, Eric, and the entire family and this very sad time. - Posted by: Cheryl Jasper (little sis) on: Oct 17, 2013
