Date of Passing: Oct 18, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWAYNE CHARLES MINAKER It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wayne Minaker at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 41 years. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his sons, Adam and Johnny; parents Dave and Lorraine; twin brother Darren (Dianne), Haleigh and Scott; sister Angela (Mark) Morisseau, Marlee and Rylan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. He was born in Winnipeg on December 17, 1971 and raised on the farm at Rosser, Manitoba. He had a very active childhood as he enjoyed playing baseball, belonged to the 4-H Club, played in the high school band but especially had a passion for curling. He enjoyed many years helping his dad out with the family farm. After completing high school he pursued a career as an electrician where he was still actively employed in his own business. Wayne was a very caring person, always willing to lend a helping hand. He looked forward to Sunday dinners so he could spend time with family but his greatest joy was spending time with his boys. He cherished his friendship with Ryan and Deena and with his cousin Matt, who worked with him this past summer. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pinniger and staff at Stonewall Hospital and a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the MICU of the Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for Wayne's children. Donations can be mailed to Royal Bank of Canada, 340 Main St., PO Box 1190, Stonewall, MB, R0C 2Z0 or made at any RBC branch, specifying Stonewall branch transit #06147. I was Wayne’s brother-in-law. Wayne would give you the shirt off his back. As an example, Wayne would offer to do anything to help solve your problems whether you asked or not. Wayne was a very talented electrician at his trade performing electrical jobs. These skills transferred into other trades such as excellence while doing carpentry among numerous other labour tasks that deserve high merit. Wayne was a true gentleman. I miss him a lot. I offer my sincere condolences to all family and friends. - Posted by: David Albert Newman (Brother in law) on: Oct 22, 2013
