ARNFRIDUR (ADDIE) FOSTER (nee SIGVALDASON) June 24, 1912 - October 24, 2013 Peacefully at the age of 101, Addie passed away with her family at her side at the Arborg Personal Care Home. She is survived by sons Harold (Alda), Richard, Ken (Linda) and Albert as well as seven grandchildren, Roger (Angela), Erin (Rick), Curtis, Keith (Annya), Kyle (Vanessa), Shawna (Jeff), Trent (Shawnee) and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Thruda Floyd as well as two sisters-in-law Monica Sigurdson and Margie Holm and brother-in-law Baldur Stefanson. Addie was predeceased by her husband Harold (Bud), daughters-in-law Trudy and Elaine, brothers Kris, Jake and Eli and sister Gudrun, sisters-in-law Phyllis, Osk, Lena, Doris, Edith, Mabel, Veronica, brothers-in-law Harry, Chris, Gunnar, Steinthor, Tom and Ray. Addie enjoyed a long healthy life. She married Bud in 1938 and together they raised their four boys on the farm in Framnes. Bud spent several winters working away from the farm leaving Addie to look after the livestock and the family. Hard work was no stranger to Addie as she had been raised with a strong work ethic by her parents Jacob and Unnur Sigvaldason. Her positive attitude carried her through many difficult situations. She would tell us "look up not down". In 1961 they made the big move to Vidir where Addie lived till retiring and moving to Arborg Sunrise Lodge. From the Lodge she moved to the assisted living facility, where she lived until she moved to the personal care home. Throughout her life she still took time to be involved in community activities like the Ladies Aid, Hospital Auxiliary, and the New Horizons Club. Addie will be missed by her family and many friends. A private family interment will take place. The funeral service will take place at the Arborg Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arborg Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Assisted Living and the Personal care home for the excellent care during her stay. MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME ARBORG (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net
