Rudy was always ready to laugh. Many were shared with Barrs and myself when we lived side by side. I remember one story that was cool. He said when he first accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and Lord he so fell in love with the Word that he couldn't stop reading it. One day he was reading the Word so intently and the furnace broke and filled the house with smoke. Suddenly he smelled smoke, he looked up from the Bible and the house was literally full of smoke. I loved that story --- that is a man of God who loved the Word. May His comfort and peace sustain you, Doris and family. - Posted by: Gladys Smith (Sydor) (Old Perth Avenue Neighbour) on: Nov 08, 2013

My wife Bona Jean and I got to know Rudy and Doris when they attended Christian Life Assembly in Langley, BC. Rudy will long be remembered at our church for his friendly handshake, encouraging words full of godly wisdom, and passionate prayer life that expressed his deep faith in God. - Posted by: Pastor Bill Ashbee (Friend) on: Nov 01, 2013

My sincere condolences to all of you in the loss of such a wonderful, loving man. Rudy was my oldest cousin and I will cherish the memories of the times that he would read bedtime stories to me when we were visiting with Grandma and Grandpa. I will hold you close in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. With Love, Valerie - Posted by: Valerie Lloyd (Cousin) on: Nov 01, 2013

Farewell to my uncle...great memories, stories, anecdotes and a challenge to always keep dreaming and believing. One of my favourites was in the late 80's when he asked me how much profit my (first) business had made in the last year...I replied quoting our meagre, but positive net profit...to which he responded, "good, you made more than the entire Chrysler Corp last year." He was good at pumping your tires. God's peace to you Auntie, Darrell, Ron, Don, Melissa, Kim, Mark and Adi and families - we love you all. R & T - Posted by: Rob Schmeichel (Nephew) on: Oct 31, 2013

I'm so sorry for your loss Doris, Darrell, Ron & Don. Rudy was a good and funny man. He had a different kind of sense of humour but he sure loved his family and grandchildren. I pray God envelopes each of your hearts with love, peace and comfort today and each day. On those difficult days may you truly feel His presence with you. Thank you for the good memories that I have. - Posted by: Angela Stupak (Ex Siste-in-law to Randy) on: Oct 31, 2013
