MARY DAHL In the early hours of October 29, 2013 Mary Dahl suddenly but gently passed away at Bethania Personal Care Home. She was a much loved aunt to Carl (Marilyn) Dahl, and Irene (Ron) Enns, and great-aunt to Aaron, Peter, Nikolas Dahl and Joel, Allison and Charles Enns. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Helena Dahl, sister Helen and brother Peter. Mary was born July 11, 1927 in Winnipeg, MB and grew up on the Dahl family farm in La Salle eventually moving with her family to their own farm near Domain, and then into Winnipeg as a young woman. She trained to be a Dental Assistant and worked for several dentists until her retirement at age 65. She loved her work and the people she met, as well as each dentist she worked for. It was an important part of her life. She loved the small family that she was part of and from our earliest memories made us all feel so special. She enjoyed the symphony, watching sports, gardening, growing gladiolas, picking strawberries, and playing games. Her last year was a difficult journey with dementia, so it is with grateful hearts that we can now say she is finally home safe in the arms of God, where she was longing to be. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, with interment to follow in LaSalle Mennonite Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Canada Food Grains Bank, 400-393 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, R3B 3H6.
