Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTANNIS KRISTIN JOHNSON We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Tannis Kristin Johnson (née Trumpour) on November 15, 2013 at St. Boniface Hospital. Tannis was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 21, 1947 and then lived in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan. In 1953 her family moved to Brandon, Manitoba for a short time and then returned to Winnipeg where she lived until her passing. Left to cherish her memory are husband Robin, father Roy Trumpour, sisters and brothers-in-law Heather and Rod Sakiyama, Susan and Bob Filiatrault, Neil Butchard, and many nieces, nephews and long-time friends. She was predeceased by her mother Hazel Trumpour in 1998 and her sister Pamela Irene Butchard in 2008. Tannis had a long career with the Royal Bank of Canada, from 1966 to her retirement in 2002. She worked her way up in the bank from teller to branch manager. During her successful and rewarding career she made many lifelong friends. Tannis loved to downhill ski. She met the love of her life Robin Johnson on a ski trip. They married in October 1990. Tannis and Robin were also accomplished sailors, having successfully competed in many sailing events in Canada and the United States. One of their favourite sailing events was the annual Lake of the Woods Lowisa. They enjoyed their cottage on Lake of the Woods for many years as well as their winter getaway in Mesa, Arizona, allowing them to golf year-round. Following a private interment a reception to celebrate Tannis' life will be held in the Assiniboine Park Conservatory on Friday, November 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. If friends so desire, donations in Tannis' name may be made to a charity of their choice. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the friends that gave of their time and support and especially to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit who made this difficult part of her journey easier. After such a short time, it seems unbelievable that a light has gone out, here on Earth, but we know several stars have appeared in the Heavens!! Maybe even millions of stars because Tannis had the gift to light up so very many lives!! I know no one else who had so many friends, and not just aquaintances!! And that is because she was the consumate friend, a giver to all she met. We will miss her and miss her each day that passes, but it is heartwarming to know she will be there to greet us when we cross over!! To Robin, Roy, Heather, Neil, Sue and respective families, we wish you peace and comfort in your beautiful memories of a remarkable woman! If a tenth of the world could show a tenth of Tannis' love toward others, there would be Peace on Earth! Rest in Peace our dear friend. - Posted by: Cathy and Michael Sweeney (friends) on: Nov 20, 2013

So saddened by this news. Tannis, I hope I told you in person. I believe I did. You were one of those people that made such a positive impact in my life. A banker who listened and trusted a young entrepreneur would make good. And I did. ;-) You heard my story, my goals and you gave me a line of credit. I followed you from RBC location to RBC location because you were that exceptional. Along the way I came to see you for an American card and you wondered what on earth I would need that for. I explained about my new venture that was based from US and you were very curious. I told you all about USANA and you were so ready for what I was sharing that we became partners and spent much time working on making a difference for others in health and finances. You meant a lot to my business beginnings and will all hold a very special place in my book of life. Whether you knew it or not you made a difference from your career chair and your friendship will always be remembered fondly. Robin, I am so sorry for your loss. Life is not always fair. I hope that the memories of the wonderful life you shared together will bring comfort. Blessings to you and all the family that will miss Tannis dearly. - Posted by: Susanne Cunningham (friend) on: Nov 20, 2013

I worked with Tannis at RBC in the 80's and since she was also a friend of my sister, I saw her occasionally thoughout the years. She didn't change one little bit and still always had a smile. We had some crazy, funny times at staff events that I still think of often and laugh. She always seemed interested in hearing what you had to say and to catch up on what was going on with you. My thoughts are with her family and close friends who have lost this grand lady. - Posted by: Lisa Walkes (RBC ) on: Nov 20, 2013

Robin: I am so sorry to learn of Tannis's passing, but grateful that her passage was peaceful, as was her nature. Though our acquaintance was relatively short, I enjoyed our golf games together during which we shared many stories of our families. I know you, her Dad and her sisters will miss her greatly. - Posted by: Judy Morris (Golf partner) on: Nov 19, 2013

It's so sad to see such a loving and caring person as Tannis robbed of their abilities and then pass way too young. We'll both miss her great hugs and all the fun times we shared over the past 30 plus years.
