PHILIP RAYMOND BATENCHUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Raymond Batenchuk, at the age of 63, on November 22, 2013. He was predeceased by his father Philip Sr. Phil will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sherry, of 25 years, mother Viola, brother Michael, brother-in-law Jeff, three daughters Carey (Wade), Dawn (Asia) and Kelli, and six grandchildren Mackenzie, Jacob, Hannah, Lila, Hailey and Ava. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as Jennifer Gibson, the mother of Carey and Dawn. Phil was an amazing carpenter. He worked for the Province of Manitoba in supply and services until retiring at the age of 56. Phil was a fun loving guy. He was funny, adventurous and the life of the party. He was a wonderful father, husband, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Phil's passion was the outdoors. He belonged to Unicity Game and Fish for many years. He enjoyed many family and member outings. He loved spending time at our home in Great Falls, MB. He was a great man who will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to CancerCare Manitoba and the healthcare team at Riverview Health Centre. Thank you as well to the many friends and family who gave us unlimited support and love during our struggle. A memorial service celebrating Phil's life will be held on Friday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway. • Going to the "Famous Great Falls Pig Roast" every year was always the highlight of the summer because it was the time of the year to meet up with great friends and of course Uncle Phil. Always the life of the night around the fire, telling us stories and just being himself. A few months ago he was in my work just shopping and I talked to him for a tiny bit but nothing to long. If I would have known it was the last time I would have seen him I would have taken all day to catch up. Thank you uncle Phil for everything and I know you're up there in that big lake in the sky finding some way to strap a ridiculous oversized motor to your boat. RIP buddy and thank you - Posted by: Joel And Amy (Friend) on: Nov 27, 2013
