Sorry to hear of the passing of Jim Burden. He attended the church for many years and worked in many areas of the Church. He was a blessing to so many in need. Sorry we couldn't attend the memorial service. - Posted by: Bishop V. Walter & Claudia Doroshuk (Friend) on: Dec 19, 2013

My deepest and sincere condolences to all who knew my pops, James Vernon Burden. God Bless all. You were one of the most beautiful, kind, caring, warm-hearted & most generous friend (Pops) that I have ever known. You've shared so much with scripture of the Bible, which were warm to the soul. So many memories that were shared through tears & joy. You were the only immediate sibling left in your family in this world, and I am happy to know that I was a part of your times of happiness. The good times we shared while I was playing hockey in those great & wonderful years. I looked, while you weren't looking, & it made me happy to know that you were excited & joyful, cheering on the team, knowing you were a part of something wonderful. A whole new family we've come to know and to be a part of. When I scored, many-a-time, to see you joyful & cheerful & to be recognized in a respectful way. To them, they knew, that was your boy on the ice that scored and brought our team to victory! You were so proud! Playing in the Old Winnipeg Arena, was the highlight of those exciting times. We prevailed & it made you so proud that the one & only goal that was scored that day, was by me & won the game. It made me happy to know that you & I were always surrounded by people that loved & enjoyed having us around. You were so happy! So many other countless & joyful memories that we shared that I will always cherish and will always hold in my heart. Though you were the only one left in your family, you were never alone. It was God that brought us together, for I had lost a father that I've never known. And you had fulfilled that void in my life and I've done the same in return. You were never alone. I will deeply miss you with all my heart and soul. Now, God has called on you to come home. The Angels are singing and rejoicing, to welcome you to your new home in Heaven. I know my family and your family that are up there, will be there to greet and welcome you, also. Tell them that I love them, Bro. Burden. I will deeply miss you, but I will never be alone, knowing that you will always be with me everywhere in my travels. For you are and always will be in my heart. Watch over me, my friend, my Pops, my brother. Now, spread your wings and fly, soar high like an Eagle, and go be with your new family in Heaven. Love, your son in Christ, Glen. - Posted by: Glen Settee (Close friend) on: Dec 05, 2013
