G. DENNIS MARTEN April 12, 1925 - December 3, 2013 At the age of 88 years Dennis passed away peacefully on December 3, 2013, with his loving wife Sally by his side, at his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He leaves behind his stepson Nigel Ramjohn, two grandsons Jayden and Evan Ramjohn, son Dale Marten, sisters Evelyn (Robert Corbett), Elsie (Ken Ferguson), brother Percy (Sheila), and brother-in-law Steve Mateush along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers Arnold, Gordon (Francis), Edward (Claire), Horace (Mary), Lawrence, and sisters Gertrude and Audrey. Dennis was the son of Albert and Gladys Marten. He was born and raised on the family farm in Cypress River. After serving in the Canadian Military, Dennis worked for many years at Canadian Linen. Later on in life he went on to become a successful business owner. Dennis was a loving husband and father; he enjoyed the simple things in life and enjoyed cooking. Dennis loved recounting his childhood memories of his time on the family farm. The family would like to thank Shelly Letkeman, Veronica Beamish and Elisabeth Janzen for all of their help and support along with all home care and Palliative nurses and Dr. Colin Fletcher. Honourable mention to the caring staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
