PATRICIA LENTON (CHARLES /
Born: Mar 15, 1928
Date of Passing: Dec 10, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA LENTON (CHARLES / McMURCHY) (née LAFRENIERE) Patricia Lenton was called home to be with her Saviour on December 10, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children Beverly (Ted), Joan (Rick), Peter (Iris), Shelley (Bruce), Sandra (Rob) and Tracy (Rob), as well as 43 grand and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William and two of her sons Ronald and Percy. Patricia was born in Swan Lake, Manitoba on March 15, 1928 to Ovid and Mia Lafreniere. She attended school in Bruxelles, Manitoba and completed her education at the Teachers College at the University of Winnipeg. She taught in the St. Vital School Division for 35 years, retiring in 1989. Patricia stayed active during her retirement as a substitute teacher, a volunteer (Springs Christian Academy, Church of the Rock, Victoria Hospital) and by just being a Grandma. She adored her grandchildren and, in turn, was adored by them. She had a great sense of humour and could keep up with (and usually outlast and out work) all of us. More than anything, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ and was ready to live with Him for eternity. We take comfort in knowing she is now healed and pain free, rejoicing in Him. A memorial service celebrating our mother's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Church of the Rock located at 1397 Buffalo Place in Winnipeg. Many thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre who helped care for our mother in her last few weeks. We find our strength in Him mom and know that we will see you again.

Pat was a wonderful friend. She was kind and generous with everyone and gave very sage advice. She was much loved by her students and will always be my daughter's favorite teacher. - Posted by: Evelyn L'Heureux (Friend) on: Mar 10, 2015

Pat will be terribly missed by her many, many, friends from the Grand-Man Cancer Reunion group. We all so remember the reunion she and Bill hosted in Miami, MB and the many reunions she attended after the loss of Bill. Pat was a fun loving, beautiful woman admired by all. It was so great to see her again at yet another reunion this past summer knowing how ill she was and still smiling and having fun. Pat will be missed and always remembered for her strength and beauty by all who knew her. - Posted by: Dorothy Singbeil (Friend) on: Dec 16, 2013

I met Pat and Bill in Grand Forks ND, while Bill was staying at Parkwood Place where I work, while Bill was having cancer treatments at Altru Hospital. From all the Canadians that stayed at Parkwood a group was formed called GrandMan. We would have a reunion once a year, in fact, Bill and Pat did host a reunion. I loved Pat...she was quite a lady...kind.. Loving...thoughtful...her smile just would light up a room.... I will miss you Pat...and I love you! Jo- - Posted by: Jo Hirsch (Friend) on: Dec 16, 2013

I remember meeting my Aunt Pat just once in Ottawa and I was really happy to get to know her. Since then my daughter had visited her cousins and Grandma Pat as she called her affectionately... Aunt Pat was generous and was a peace maker; very positive person and loving mother as evidenced by such beautiful attention given to her by her family these last days. God Bless and I'm sure Aunt Lillian and her and the boys will have lots to talk about up there! And I am sure they will look over their families from on high. God Bless. PS. I am still sleeping on the beautiful pillow cases she had given me for my wedding 20 years ago! Talk about good taste! - Posted by: Louise Lafreniere Roussel and Marie Roussel (France) (Niece and grandniece) on: Dec 13, 2013

We got to know Pat during Bill's time in Grand Forks for cancer treatment, and have kept in touch since. We had some great times at our cancer reunions, in which Pat was very involved. She was a great insperation to our group, and a terrific organiser and hard worker. She will be missed. - Posted by: Ann & Gerald Graves (Friends from Beausejour ) on: Dec 12, 2013
