Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT GODAL 1928 - 2013 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Godal on December 26, 2013 at Concordia Hospital with his family by his side. Albert was born in Velusovic, Slovakia on August 22, 1928, coming to Canada with his family in 1936. Albert worked for CNR VIA rail for 42 years, retiring in 1987. During his retirement he enjoyed many cruises with Ollie and his sister-in-law Mary. He was also known for walking his beagles every day. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ollie, two daughters Debby and Sandy (Ian) Crowson, and his two grandsons Alex and Mike. He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his parents Maria and Andrey and his brothers Koloman (wife Mary) and Ernest (wife Mary). The family would like to thank the nurses and Health Care Aids of Concordia Hospital, especially Leanne, for their care of Albert. In lieu of flowers a donation to Siloam Mission or as Albert had a fondness for animals of any kind, be it pet or wildlife a donation to an animal charity would also be appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held for Albert at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road, on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of Albert. We had you in our thoughts and prayers on Friday. The weather was just not in our favour to make it to the funeral. Take care. - Posted by: Irene {Eckhardt} and Joe Capka (Old family friends) on: Jan 05, 2014

When I first moved to Stoney Lake Bay, Albert and Ollie and their two beagles were so welcoming and kind. They watched my son grow up and moved recently when Carter was 8. When I found myself a single Mom with my son at 15 months, Albert and Ollie were always there for me. From helping me to trim broken tree branches, passing on toys to my son and always keeping a watchful eye over my home, Albert and Ollie were the best neighbours! I will always remember the time when I couldn't get into my car and was panicking trying to get my sick asthmatic son to his doctor and Albert drove me downtown for my appointment talking to me and calming me down! He was a lovely man with a kind heart and and I will be ever thankful that he was my neighbour almost 14 years. - Posted by: Kristen Hepworth (Next door neighbour since 1999) on: Jan 04, 2014
