NICHOLAS (NICK) DYCK
Date of Passing: Dec 30, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS (NICK) DYCK 1922 - 2013 It is with celebration and sorrow that we mourn the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Monday, December 30, 2013. After a sudden fall and some complications he went to join his Lord and Saviour, and beloved wife Elsie. He leaves to mourn his two daughters: Eleanor (Dennis) and Sandra (Chris); three grandchildren: Tracy, Mark and Shannon; and six great-grandsons whom he loved dearly. He always enjoyed his work with Crosstown Credit Union, Independent Furniture and Hudson Bay Co. After his retirement he was able to travel a fair amount, visit sick people and do many other activities. He served the Lord at Mennonite Central Committee for three years, as a deacon at Portage Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church for 14 years, singing in radio choirs and many other areas of the church. Singing with the CMBC quartet for 38 years was a very rewarding experience as well as being the founder of the Parade of Quartets. He was a blessing to many people. He lived his life with integrity and always showing love to everyone he met. He was very loved and will be missed very much. "Family and very close friends only," will gather on Friday, January 3, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lindenwood Manor, 475 Lindenwood Drive E., Winnipeg, Manitoba (please use Heritage entrance), to celebrate Nick's life and home going. Flowers are gratefully declined, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Nick may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9. Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
