Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Grace & family - we are incredibly saddened upon reading of Gord's passing. He was a incredibly jolly soul! Upon meeting him along our travels, he always had a smile and shared laughter with us. Please remember that goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end, they simply mean we will miss him until we meet again. - Posted by: Cordell and Beverley Bestland (Friends) on: Jan 08, 2014

  • I remember Gord when I was 18 years old. He had this "gruff exterior" but he was a good man. I recall being over at their house many a time and Grace would make those great toasted bacon and tomato sandwiches. Later on in life when I was about 36, I re-established a relationship with Gord and Grace, because Gord and I ended up attending the same "club". My last visit with Gord was on Christmas Eve. He said he was thirsty and wanted something cold to drink like gingerale or milk, so I went and bought him one. It was amazing to see how someone in his circumstances enjoyed that cold gingerale so much. No complaints. His Gord "spirit" and "character" were alive and well that day. We shared a few laughs and a few stories for awhile and then I remember getting up to leave and shaking that big "mitt" of his - a true man's hand. He will be missed at the "club". My heart goes out to Grace and family for their loss. He was a good man. - Posted by: Don Wallace (Friend of family) on: Jan 07, 2014

  • I am so sorry for your loss. I am thinking of you all during this difficult time. Sharon, I hope you can find some solace while drinking tea on your rock and thinking about your Dad's life. - Posted by: Karen Smith (In-Law) on: Jan 06, 2014
