MARGARET JANE SHAW (nee COLEMAN) September 22, 1943 - January 5, 2014 It is with deep sadness that the family of Jane Shaw announces her passing on January 5, 2014, at the Stonewall Hospital. Margaret Jane Coleman was born on September 22, 1943, to Jack and Margaret Coleman in Brandon, MB. She was the eldest of three children, sister to Anne (Ken) Bohn and Terry (Sandra) Coleman. Mom spent the first years of her life in the Wawanesa area moving with her family to the Alexander area which she called home for many years. Jane married Clarence Shaw on August 27, 1960. They raised three sons, Jim (Susan), Russ (Dawn) and John. She was aunty to four nieces and three nephews. She was Granny to Carli (Ryan) Haddad, Brenna (Parker) Smith, Julia Shaw and Dennis Shaw and Great-Granny to Kane, Zari and Safina. Mom and Dad lived and worked in the Alexander area and Souris until Dad's passing in 1997 when Mom moved to Stonewall to be closer to her family. Jane was a very hard working, caring person, working as a health care aide for most of her life. Her kind gentle ways with her clients endeared her to them. Her co-workers on nights at Rosewood had a special bond. Jane was always quiet, unassuming, working hard behind the scenes, never wanting to be in the spotlight. Mom was a very private person. She loved her care groups and bible studies, and getting together with friends and family. Mom always put others first, caring for and worrying about them, telling everyone "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." Mom battled cancer from 1997, fighting the good fight. She succumbed on January 5, 2014. Mom looked forward to reuniting with the love of her life - "Shorty". She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Special thanks to her friends who were with her till the end. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stonewall Palliative Care, Box 1282, Stonewall, Manitoba, R0C 2Z0. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the New Life Church, PTH 67, Stonewall, MB. MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME STONEWALL 204-467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

  • Our most sincere sympathy to all of our dear Shaw family. Jane was such a caring, helpful, wonderful lady. She was always behind the scenes (like in the kitchen) just helping quietly and efficiently. - Posted by: Jack and Doris (family friends) on: Jan 09, 2014
