GAIL PATRICIA CARPENTER (nee GZEBOWSKI) It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Gail Carpenter on January 14, 2014, at Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 64 years after surviving lung cancer for four precious years. Gail was born on March 31, 1949 to Joseph and Stella Gzebowski. She was the middle child in a large family with eight siblings. On June 15, 1968 Gail married Richard Carpenter. They were childhood sweethearts, best friends and never far from each other's side. After raising her children, Gail went to work in Telecommunications for the Provincial Government until her retirement in 2007. Gail was honest and forthright with a unique sense of humour. She could keep you laughing for hours. Together, Gail and Richard gathered groups of friends around them that would last a lifetime, friends who joined them at Grausdin Point which started as their cottage at the lake and later became their retirement home. And still other groups of friends they shared vacations with. If you were family or a friend, you could always count on her loyalty. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Richard; her daughter Nicole (Jason) Roslinsky and their son Tyler; her son Richard (Susan) Carpenter and their children Tyler and Carissa; as well as numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and many close friends. Respecting her wishes cremation has taken place and no service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gail's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.

Richard, this news made us so sad. We met at bowling and loved Gail immediately. We remember her laughter and it was clear that she loved her life. Heaven's light dimmed for a while when she died but then, got brighter when she arrived there. We hope that the wonderful memories of your life together give you comfort in the days to come. - Posted by: Ted and Laurette Truszynski (friends) on: Jan 20, 2014
