MARTHA JANZEN 1925 - 2014 Martha was called Home on January 17, 2014 at her home in Donwood Manor in Winnipeg after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Jacob K. (1954) and Katherina ("Tina" 1983) Janzen. Dear sister of Jacob (Agnes), Siegfried (Margaret), Walter (Ann), John (Magdalene), Wally (Judy) (Laura 1982), Edmund (Mary) and Monica Janzen. She is survived by Walter, Wally and Edmund; sisters-in-law Margaret, Magdalene, Mary and Judy, as well as her chosen son Gopal Sharma, his wife Sheila and their two children. She is also fondly remembered by her good friend Catherine Tam and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two infant sisters, Martha and Magdalena Janzen. Martha began her career as a secretary and bookkeeper working at various establishments including Bethesda in Vineland. After moving to Winnipeg, she opened her home, located near the university, to international students and made numerous life-long friendships. She also served for many years with The Mennonite Central Committee and worked in Nepal for two terms. Despite suffering from polio and a foot injury in her youth and enduring many personal hardships and setbacks she resiliently made her way through life, trusting God for all of her needs. After retirement she travelled around the world to visit her international friends who loved her as "Auntie Martha." Martha was a good and faithful servant to the Lord volunteering in His work until the end. "Welcome home, thou good and faithful servant." Memorial service to be held at Donwood Manor at a later date. Friends Funeral Service, 204-339-5555
