After meeting Anne Kornelsen, the couple married in 1955 and settled in Winnipeg where he spent most of his working life as a driver for Winnipeg Transit. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at their Lee River cottage and volunteering in numerous ways. Walter's faith in God was lived out in the way he gave of his time, from teaching Sunday School to looking after the church building in his role as "Hausvater". My condolences to the family. As a former student of Karl, I saw evidence of the influence that Walter's life had, based on the strong faith and character demonstrated by his son. - Posted by: Chris Caswill (Friend of Family) on: Jan 23, 2014
