Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILMA DUNCAN December 15, 1917 January 19, 2014 Wilma Christina Duncan passed away peacefully, with her family by her side. Celebrating a life well lived are son Rob (Sharon) Duncan; daughter Lynda (Kerry) Baxter; and grandchildren Shannon and Daron Baxter and Scott Duncan; other daughter' Deloris Ankrom and her family; Lil Duncan; the Gabel family and many others whose lives she touched and enriched. Wilma was the last of her generation and was predeceased by her husband Alex, parents Pauline and Philip Konzelman, siblings Lee, Kay, Brownie, Bill, Phil and many in-laws and friends. Mom lived a long and happy life. She spent countless hours in the garden nurturing her tomatoes, apples and flowers. Her summers at Gull Lake were special. She and Dad built the cabin and loved to putter there. They enjoyed activities with neighbours and extended family, and especially evening card games. Her time there with sisters Kay and Lee were special for them all. Mom loved to sew and could create a vision, pattern and finished product to order. New curtains for the lake were a project tackled well into her 80s. She was an enthusiastic bowler for years and even bowled a 300 game! She loved animals, and she and several Fluffy the cats' will be remembered by many. Mom took care of us all. She and Dad were a wonderful couple with a sparkle in their eye and such a good sense of humour that they were happy people to be with. She was so very proud of her children and grandchildren and we became her main focus after Dad passed away. We will all remember her optimistic and caring outlook and her positive values. When Dad died, she said goodbye to him, and told him to wait for her, and we are sure, knowing him, that he has been impatient for the last while and anxious to see her. We can envision mom and dad, arm in arm, as they head off to a game of cards. Those who have gone ahead know well that their nickels are no longer safe! Cremation has taken place and a family celebration will be held at a later date. Our thanks to those at Lindenwood Manor and Riverwood Square who supported mom in the last few years, and to the very special people at Golden Links whose exceptional care and love was so very appreciated by all of us. If one wishes, donations in Wilma's memory can be made to Golden Links Lodge.

I am so sorry for your loss. Some of my fondest gull lake memories are of going with my granny to visit auntie Wilma & uncle Duncan. The family card games, and the sisters laughter around the table is sorely missed. - Posted by: Kristen () on: Jan 26, 2014
