I've known Doreen since the summer of '78 and it was quite memorable. We moved to the Marion Apartments in the 'B' block (as it was then called) 312 Marion Street in the basement suite. Doreen lived straight above on the second floor with her mother and brother. She always enjoyed spreading a blanket on the grass taking full advantage of our short summers soaking in the sun and air perhaps with a few snacks and a book or two. I was either exiting the building or coming home when Doreen, who happened to be sitting in her usual accustomed place, asked if I minded that she sat so close to the front of our apartment window as it was the best spot and I said I did not mind at all. From that moment onward a bond was formed. Many cherished memories too numerous to tell. And as they say the rest is history!!! My mother was very fond of Doreen and enjoyed having her taxes filled out by the best professional hands and the most accurate results. My brother also was very fond of Doreen and we will miss her greatly. Our sympathies to all concerned!!! - Posted by: Guy (friend) on: Feb 07, 2014
