ANNE BARLUK It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, Anne Barluk on February 7, 2014. Anne died peacefully at the Jubilee Lodge Nursing Home in Edmonton. She was born in Winnipeg on June 6, 1915. Her parents were the late Thomas and Irene Pastuch. She leaves behind her sister, Olga Howitt, of Oakville, Ontario; her sons, Tom of Edmonton and David of Vancouver; her granddaughter, Lindsay (Scott) Yaworski of Vancouver, along with her great-granddaughters, Brielle and Amelia Yaworski and her grandson Michael (Ayse) of Vancouver. She was predeceased by husbands Philip Barluk and John Onysko. She will be fondly remembered by nieces, Marianne (Marcel) Villeneuve of Oakville and Patricia (Jack) Kliman of Vancouver and nephews, Daniel Howitt (Gail) of Calgary and Tom Howitt of Windsor. Anne spent most of her life in Winnipeg. She was a member of Holy Eucharist Church and an active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League. Anne was a hairdresser and operated her own business into her seventies. She was very active and, after her working years, would take long and vigorous walks most days until almost her ninetieth birthday. Due to health concerns she moved to Edmonton in 2006. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt St. and Munroe Ave. with Fr. M. Kwiatkowski officiating. A private interment, for family members, will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favourite charity. The family would like thank the staff of Jubilee Lodge for their compassion and exceptional care. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193
